International Week of Happiness at Work
Several studies link productivity and happiness: happy people are 31% more productive and three times more creative than others. Happiness also improves business profitability and reduce absenteeism.
In few words, when we are in a happy state of mind, the creative ideas flow in abundantly and we are much better at problem-solving and decision-making.
I am convinced that Happiness at Work should be a top priority of all organizations, large and small, public and private, national and international. And that should be the norm, not the exception.
That is why I have decided to adhere to the following MANIFESTO that is promoted from the International Week of Happiness at Work, which will take place from September 23 to 27, 2019 in several countries.
Happiness at work. The norm, not the exception.
Happiness at work. The most natural thing in the world.
Happiness at work pays off. For yourself, when you are happy, you are healthier, more vital, more cheerful, more social and more successful
For organizations. Happier employees are more involved, more productive, more cooperative, more creative and more innovative. They are less likely to call in sick and there is a decreased chance they will experience a burnout.
Happiness at work is about meaningful work, healthy relationships, development and having fun. And about stopping unnecessary rules, powerplay, complicated processes and procedures, absenteeism, unmotivated colleagues and terrible managers.
Let’s create a workplace to stimulate fun, appreciation, positive feedback, awesome challenges, trust, meaningful results and own responsibilities. Let us, as employees, employers, entrepreneurs, organizations and especially as human beings work together to make happiness at work the norm and not the exception.
If you want to contribute make Happiness at work the norm, not the exception, I invite you to sign this Manifesto to show your commitment to do everything in your power to make you, your team and your organization much happier.
If we all take a step, we can make a big change. Are you in?
In addition, I´m promoting the Canary Initiative of Happiness at Work (which we will activate in the coming weeks). If you are interested in being part of it, please write me directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) to know that I can count with you
